We are absolutely thrilled to share that Michael Pratt, our Club President, long-standing coach, and the driving force behind Yarra Tri Club, has been honoured with the 2025 Contribution to Sport Award at the Yarra Community Awards.
This award recognises outstanding individuals who make a meaningful, lasting difference in local sport and no one embodies this more than Michael.
Michael has spent more than three decades shaping YarraTri into the club it is today: a welcoming, inclusive, vibrant community where athletes of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds are supported to thrive.
His impact is felt far beyond training plans and race days. Michael is known for:
-
Championing inclusion, ensuring people with disabilities, neurodiverse athletes, LGBT members and beginners all have a place in our club
-
Coaching with heart and purpose, focusing on confidence, connection, and personal achievement
-
Building partnerships with inclusive sport programs to make triathlon accessible to everyone
-
Creating spaces where people feel seen, encouraged, and capable of achieving things they never thought possible
This is the kind of leadership that transforms a club into a community! This award shines a spotlight on the culture we’ve built together and celebrates the countless volunteer hours, coaching sessions, and moments of support that define YarraTri.
Thank you Michael for your vision, your unwavering dedication, your generosity, and your genuine care for every single member of YarraTri Club. Your award is incredibly deserved, and the whole club celebrates this moment with pride.
