A Historic Season for Yarra Tri Club: Championship Victories and One of the Sport's Highest Honours.

Championship victories, State Championship titles and one of the sport's highest honours. The 2025–26 season delivered all three for Yarra Tri Club.

While the club celebrated dual Club Championship victories and a host of outstanding individual performances, the season was crowned by the induction of President and Coach Michael Pratt as a Legend of Multisport, recognising three decades of dedication and service to the sport as an athlete, coach and administrator.

It is difficult to imagine a more fitting conclusion to one of the most successful seasons in the club's history.

Individual Success on the State Stage

A huge congratulations to our State Championship age group winners:

  • Ellie
  • Margery
  • Emily
  • Vanessa
  • Karyn
  • Trent
  • John
  • Braelan
  • Michael

An impressive effort also came from Sonja and Tom, who both secured second place in their respective State Championship age groups.

These achievements represent countless early mornings, training sessions, races, setbacks and breakthroughs throughout the season. To see so many Yarra athletes standing on championship podiums is a testament to their dedication and commitment.

Club Champions Through Team Effort

While individual performances were outstanding, one of the most remarkable aspects of the season was the collective effort that led Yarra Tri Club to claim both the Performance Club Championship and the State Series Club Championship.

Importantly, these titles were not won by a handful of athletes. They were earned through the contributions of 26 different Yarra athletes who scored points for the club throughout the season.

Every race start, every finish line crossed, every point earned mattered.

From first-time competitors to experienced racers, every athlete who represented Yarra played a role in building this success. These championships reflect the strength of our community, the support athletes provide one another, and the shared commitment to showing up and giving our best throughout the season.

A Fitting Honour for Michael Pratt

As remarkable as the racing achievements were, the season concluded with an honour that extends far beyond race results.

Yarra Tri Club's President and Coach, Michael Pratt, was inducted as a Legend of Multisport in recognition of his extraordinary 30-year contribution to the sport as an athlete, coach and sports administrator.

The award acknowledges decades of dedication to multisport and the profound impact Michael has had on athletes, clubs and the broader sporting community.

Those of us at Yarra Tri Club are fortunate to see that contribution firsthand. Michael's knowledge, leadership, generosity and commitment have helped shape not only individual athletes but the culture and success of our club.

In a season where Michael won his own State Championship age group title, coached Yarra athletes to numerous championship performances, and guided the club to both major club championship victories, this recognition feels especially fitting.

The Legend of Multisport honour celebrates far more than a single season. It recognises a lifetime of contribution and a legacy that continues to influence and inspire athletes across the sport.

Congratulations Michael!

Looking Back with Pride

This season showcased everything that makes Yarra Tri Club special: individual achievement, collective effort, community spirit and strong leadership.

To every athlete who raced, volunteered, supported teammates, scored points, stood on a podium, or represented the club throughout the season, congratulations and thank you!

And to Michael Pratt, congratulations on a truly deserved recognition as a Legend of Multisport!

It has been an incredible year for Yarra Tri Club, and one that will be remembered with great pride for years to come.
